ABOUT

During the mid-nineties Paul started his career at iconic dance label Jackpot Records and international agency, 7pm Management. It was there he looked after some of today’s most respected artists in the form of Sasha, John Digweed and Danny Howells. In 1998 Paul hooked up with Danny to begin his first weekly residency at the infamous Subterania in London. Soon after, he delved deep into the world of production and it wasn’t to be long before his first record was released on Whoop Recordings.

In 1999, Paul and old college friend Mark O’Brien founded their own record label, Sumsonic Recordings, after developing a serious passion for experimentation in the studio. This move saw Paul dive head first into the production game and begin to build a well-respected industry repertoire. Thirty singles and remixes later, all with major support from the big hitters, Paul was soon causing a massive stir on the underground scene, DJing globally, from Budapest’s Love Parade right across to Brazil’s 2010 Carnival… In almost 15 years, he covered most territories, back to back, but production was always where his heart was.

In more recent years Paul can be found in the studio along side Radio 1 ambassador Pete Tong, reworking tracks from acclaimed artists including; Gorillaz, Underworld, U2, The Verve and Bryan Ferry. Last year the Tong & Rogers studio partnership crossed over into the world of movie production. The duo compiled the soundtrack to ‘Harry Brown’, which was littered with their customary dark and edgy sounds.

The remix world has been a consistent one, with a special version of Underworld’s new single “Bird 1″ which has just gone in as number 6 in the coolcuts chart. Their latest project sees the pair remixing the next hit-in-the-making by NERD. With production from the pioneering force Daft Punk, and Pharrell on vocals, this track is one of the stand out collaborations of 2010. Tong & Rogers have taken it underground, doing the vocal justice from it’s amazing original, but also trying to captivate the audience for a dark dance floor.

With a fresh EP set to be released on Toolroom Records, an upcoming collaboration with Paul Harris on Gorillaz ‘Empire Ants’, a new Japanese Popstars remix, and some other surprise remixes in the pipeline, 2011 is set to be yet another groundbreaking year for the dynamic studio lover.

Paul’s blend of underground productions, movie soundtrack scores and innovative remixing keeps him at the forefront of the ever-expanding music scene.
